Fans Have A Few Theories For The Phantom Liberty DLC Of Cyberpunk 2077

Since its release after years of anticipation, Cyberpunk 2077 has had a rocky start. And, while it is far from perfect or bug-free, CD Projekt Red has made significant strides in apologizing to fans. While Cyberpunk 2077 is still not what fans expected in the first place, it is getting close.

They created a dystopian world, and the Edgerunners anime, set in the same world, catapulted the game to new heights, with people banding together to give the game another chance. This also made CD Projekt Red realise that there is more to the titular title than meets the eye. And here comes the one and only expansion Phantom Liberty.

We, unfortunately, don’t have much information other than the trailer and a few tidbits that CD Projekt Red has mentioned, as they have wisely kept quiet about everything this time. However, this also means that we have no idea where the story will take us. Although, because these story threads were left open-ended in the main game, we do have a few possibilities.

Mr Blue Eyes may have a larger role in the DLC.

We don’t know much about Mr Blue Eyes, having only spoken to him once or twice during the game. However, he is mentioned by NPCs, which makes him sound like a shadowy figure who is always aware of what is going on around him. Fans believe his story will be expanded upon in the DLC because there is a good chance he will turn out to be Morgan Blackhand.

Morgan was presumed dead after the Araska Tower attack with Johnny Silverhand, but that may not be the whole story. Not only that, but he bears a striking resemblance to the titular Morgan Blackhand after some unused Morgan models were discovered in the game files. As if to further support this theory, the hair used on Mr Blue Eyes is also referred to in the files as Morgan Blackhand.

The Peralez family and mind control may also be an intriguing story to investigate.

The ‘Dream On’ sidequest in Cyberpunk 2077 left many fans wanting more because we didn’t get to see what was really going on behind the shadowy calls and mind-control insinuation throughout the quest. That is why there is a good chance that the Phantom Liberty DLC will focus on this. The Peralez family is subjected to mind control, which explains their amnesia, but there is another character named Liberty Patel who is in the same situation.

Aside from the name, the model for this character used in the game is also eerily similar to the new character that we get to see at the end of the trailer. We also see a glitchy engram-like effect on her in the trailer, which could indicate that soul-killer was used on her and she is also living inside V’s head.

However, these are only theories at this point, so which do you believe is most likely to occur? We can only wait and see at this point.
