Superman and Lois have a large fan base, which means these fans are eager to learn whether the show will be renewed for a fourth season. While Season 3 has not yet concluded, the show’s producers have confirmed that it will have an open ending and even a cliffhanger, so audiences have that to look forward to. While this would be fine for any other show, the future of this series is still up in the air, leaving fans concerned.
The ending this season is amazing. You’ve got some Lex Luthor in there… I don’t want to give any spoilers, but the end of the season is great — and it’s got a bit of a cliffhanger. It is expensive [and] doesn’t make money for us. We also don’t have the rights to the prior seasons. You need to have a library [for people to find a show]… and the prior seasons are [on HBO Max].

Season 4 of Superman and Lois may not happen.
While there is no definitive answer for this show, there is a high likelihood that season 3 will be the final season, as showrunners at The CW are more interested in keeping Gotham Knights alive, which is the cheapest DC show to produce even if viewership is much lower than Superman. However, many people wanted to keep Superman and Lois alive, including Eric Wallace, the showrunner of The Flash, who is aware that this is the last show standing in the Arrowverse.
