The American Film Institute (AFI) Awards are the awards presented by the institute in question to recognize the top 10 TV series and movies of the year. Last years submissions and winners were quite interesting and we don’t doubt that this year will be any different. The AFI Awards 2023 are set to select their winners on January 5th of 2024. They revealed this on Wednesday, also adding that it will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. This event will be honorees-only.
How are the AFI Award selections made?
The American Film Institute makes its selections through a jury process which is comprised of artists, critics, scholars and AFI trustees. The AFI also announced that deadlines for submissions will be announced in a few weeks and the honorees that will get the chance to attend this glorious event will be announced in December 2023. It is known that AFI Awards is the only national award program that ‘honors creative teams as a whole’, recognizing both of those who in front of and behind the camera.

Main highlights of the 2022 AFI Awards presented on Jan 14th 2023:
AFI Awards 2022 selected 10 outstanding films and 10 outstanding TV programs as its honorees. The event was held on the 14th of January, 2023 at Beverly Hills as is annual tradition. It also had a few special recipients. Some mention-worthy honorees from the 2022 Awards include: ‘Avatar: The way of water’, ‘Elvis’, ‘The Woman King’, ‘The Fablemans’, ‘ Abbot Elementary’, ‘The Bear’ and more.
